Why Give

Thousands of alumni and friends, as well as supporters from foundations and the corporate world, provide the private gifts necessary to maintain and enhance the educational experience at UT Martin.

The goal of the professional staff is to assist donors in finding the best gift mechanism to satisfy their personal, financial, and charitable goals. Below is a description of the many ways in which you can support the university.

How to Give

The University of Tennessee at Martin needs your support. Every gift, no matter the amount, counts toward our annual giving and alumni percentage totals. Percentage of alumni giving is a major factor in how we are ranked in U.S. News and World Report.

Where to Give

The University of Tennessee at Martin has a proud heritage and is forever indebted to the loyal alumni who have helped the university achieve its status as one of the premier public institutions in the region.

In today's environment of tightened budgets and reduced state funding, the importance of flexible use resources cannot be overstated. These types of "current operations" gifts allow our campus leaders to respond to immediate need at the university and help keep us competitive.

Through the Campus Fund and the College Funds, donors are providing flexible gifts that allow our campus leaders to take bold actions to keep the university at the forefront of advanced learning and discovery.

The UT Martin Campus Fund

The UT Martin Campus Fund is a new priority and represents an opportunity for alumni and friends to support the larger goals and priorities of the university as set by the chancellor. With an increased level of support of gifts of this nature, our donors allow the chancellor to take full advantage of unique opportunities and address specific needs as they arise.

The College Fund

The College Fund provides an opportunity to make a gift to one or more of UTM's five colleges. Gifts to the College Fund go to work immediately and are used to address the unique opportunities, challenges, and needs facing each college. Whether it is funding technology upgrades, student enrichment activities, and scholarships, or helping to retain outstanding faculty, donors can take pride in knowing their gift to their college is having an immediate, positive impact on the educational experience of students in the colleges of their greatest interest.

The University of Tennessee has designated the UT Foundation as the preferred channel for all private contributions that benefit the university's students and faculty.
